My name is John Q. Prosecutor — a nom de plume — to be sure. I am a lawyer, blogger, editor, prosecutor, and former law enforcement officer. I write about criminal law and procedure; the law of evidence; policing; prosecution; and sentencing.
While the vast majority of the criminal justice blogosphere is defense-oriented, I offer a front-line, prosecutor’s perspective on law and order and the pursuit of justice. I focus on analyzing state and federal appellate opinions, concepts in criminal and evidence law, and relevant scholarship and news items bearing on criminal justice issues.
I write under a pseudonym in order to profess my thoughts, views, and opinions, unencumbered by my professional duties as a minister of justice and dedicated public servant.
I welcome dissent.
